Registrations are now open for Camp Brave Hearts

Camp Brave Hearts is for heart kids aged 8-12 years to engage in outdoor pursuit activities in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

This week long camp will be held from 12-16 January 2015 at Lake Taupo Christian Camp. It is an opportunity for heart kids to do adventurous fun activities, make friendships, and build confidence and independence.

As numbers are limited we have a selection criteria for campers and each application is considered with this in mind.

1) Your heart child is unable to attend a school or holiday camp due to the severity of his/her heart condition. 2) Your child applied for 2014 Camp but was declined due to the high number of applicants. 3) Recognition of you/your family as an active Branch Member of Heart Kids. 4) All other applicants.

If points 1-3 listed above apply to your child's situation, please include the information with your application, either on or attached to, the form in support of your child's application.

ALL CAMPER APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING THE MEDICAL FORM, THAT REQUIRES A VISIT TO THE DOCTOR, MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00PM, FRIDAY 17TH OCTOBER 2014.

Volunteer Adult Helpers 

Of course we can't run Camp Brave Hearts without our team of volunteer adult helpers - many Heart Kids parents. Please consider coming along to help heart kids take on challenges, share your experiences with them and have some fun together. If you would like to be considered for this role, please download the Adult Helper Application Form below or contact the National Office directly and one will be posted/emailed. Please submit this form with your child's application.

As part of our leadership development opportunity and succession planning for Heart Kids we reserve eight adult helper positions for young heart adults aged between 18 and 25 years. Young heart adults can apply by completing the Adult Helper Application Form.

As always our ability to hold this event is dependent on the success of a number of fundraising initiatives currently in progress. Donations from camp attendees are greatly appreciated (suggested amount $150.00)

You will be notified that the camp is to go ahead and whether your application is successful on or before 1st December 2014.
